Reflexology

Reflexology uses specific touch techniques to stimulate “reflex points and areas” on the feet, hands, and ears. These points correspond to a specific part of the body.

Using Reflexology on the feet, hands, or ears stimulates specific pathways of sensory nerves. The nerves then send messages to the brain, which in turn sends messages to the corresponding area of the body to produce relaxation. Reflexology improves blood flow and increases supplies of oxygen and nutrients to areas of the body, resulting in better health.

Reflexology is best suited for reducing the accumulation of stress in the body. This is an important benefit because stress has been found to cause and complicate a large percentage of all health problems.

Reflexology does more than reduce stress in common areas of accumulation, such as the neck, shoulders, and lower back. It also reduces stress inside the body, such as in the lungs, heart, kidneys, or entire intestinal tract.

Reflexology seems to be most effective in relieving muscular and skeletal pain in the jaw, shoulders, neck, back and hips. It’s also commonly used to help relieve conditions that are stress-related and involve the heart, lungs, digestive tract, and other organs.
